2004.0.07.0305 Released March 7, 2007

  • Added the ability to try the built-in Anti-virus features and create unlimited users with the 30-day trial.
  • Added new anti-spam DNS blacklist services (DNSBL) and removed some of the obsolete DNSBL services.
  • Added support for the Windows Vista operating system.
  • Updated the 602LAN SUITE Content Filter engine based on the latest PureSight 3.6.8 SDK.
  • Increased the speed of the 602LAN SUITE Content Filter by 20% due to optimizations in the internal PureSight engine.
  • Removed the old legacy log files (W3CA.log, W3CP.log, W3CC.log, W3CNAT.log, FW.log).
  • Fixed an SMTP syntax issue that would not accept an attachment with Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit (server responds: 501 Bad syntax).
  • Fixed an incorrect parameter returned by the proxy that caused Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 to not work correctly with the Content Filter.
  • Removed the ability to register the free 5 user version.

2004.0.05.0803 Released August 9, 2005

  • Fixed the error "Service Control Manager EVENT ID: 7022" when 602LAN SUITE was started as a service on Windows 2000 or 2003.
  • Fixed an error in the DHCP configuration from the Remote Web Administration. This error caused a mixup between the items "DHCP option" and "IP address range to use".
  • Fixed an error in the User configuration from Remove Web Administration. This errror was caused when the Administrator did not start the Configuration Wizard after instalation and created the first user from the Remote Web Administration. The alias postmaster, webmaster was not added to the first user with the Administration right.
  • Fixed the error "Range Check Error" in ActiveReports. This error was caused when more than 256 users were created in 602LAN SUITE.
  • Fixed ActiveReports to correctly count the number of blocked web pages by the content filter for authenticated users and unsorted users.
  • Fixed ActiveReports to show the correct sum of all blocked pages.

2004.0.05.0623 Released June 27, 2005

  • Added support for Hyper-threading and SMP (multi) processor computers to the Firewall/NAT.
  • Added HOSTNAME notification to the SMTP server.
  • Added the ability to archive/copy all incoming and outgoing messages to a user (found on the User Properties).
  • Added the new OPENSSL library to the SSL web server (this replaced the former SSLEAY library).
  • Added warning dialogs to show when the Firewall/NAT driver is not loaded. This is caused because it is required to restart the computer or the user does not have Administrator rights to register the driver on the system. This problem has mainly occurred on Windows 2000 and in some special configurations on Windows XP.
  • Fixed a vulnerability issue in the Web Mail Client that allows a remote cross site scripting attack (click here for the detailed advisory).
  • Fixed a log display issue in the Remote Web Admin that allows an attacker to hide log entries (click here for the detailed advisory). Please note that this DOES NOT effect entries to the normal log file.
  • Fixed a problem with communication between the SSL web server and Mozilla Firefox.
  • Fixed a problem in the Web Mail Client when viewing HTML e-mail with more than one picture on a row.

  • Fixed a vulnerability issue in the Web Mail Client that allowed anyone to make a web request that could detect the presence of local files and cause a denial of service attack (click here for the detailed advisory).

  • Added the ability to enable Automatic Proxy discovery through the Web Proxy Autodiscovery Protocol (e.g. http://server/wpad.dat).
  • Added option WPAD 252 to the DHCP server.
  • Added WPAD discovery to the DNS proxy.
  • Added preset routes to function as local domain names in 602LAN SUITE.
  • Added access to ActiveReports configuration from the Remote Web Admin.
  • Enhanced the Web Mail Forward function to include a FROM: address.

  • Fixed a problem in the Web Mail Client that did not correctly use the fax number in the TO: field when a Saved Draft was used.
  • Fixed a memory leak in the Web Mail Client New Message function that would sometimes cause an exception.

2004.0.05.0223 Released February 23, 2005

  • Added support for domain aliases in 602LAN SUITE ActiveReports.
  • Fixed a language flag error in the Web Mail Client causing the Spell Checker to be disabled and the default MIME format set to ISO Latin2.
  • Fixed a random error that caused a second download of the same file via the proxy server doubling the size of the file.

2004.0.05.0210 Released February 11, 2005

  • Fixed an 'Unhandled Exception: Access violation' in the Web Mail Client when an e-mail was viewed that did not have a sender e-mail address.
  • Fixed the error 'Error reading message dispatch form' in the Web Mail Client that prevented the Send Items folder from being viewed.
  • Fixed a random error that caused the Content Filter to not initialize properly on the first try.

  • Added sensitivity settings to the Content Filter.
  • Added Import/Export support to the Content Filter Blacklist and Whitelist.
  • Added the ability to specify multiple domains for the default domain name (separate with a comma).
  • Added buttons to the Web Mail Client for faster message paging.
  • Added a button to the Web Mail Client to mark messages as unread.
  • Added proxy authentication support for Anti-virus Updates and 602LAN SUITE Updates.
  • Added support for * and ? to mail sorting as a character, not wildcard or mask. Use a backslash before the character to specify as such (e.g. How are you today\?).
  • Added multiple instance protection to the M602LS3W.EXE application (Web Mail Client Login Server). This resolves a problem some people were having with the Web Mail Client after restarting the 602LAN SUITE service.
  • Added new functionality to the M602LS3W.INI section [Settings]:
    • AutoLogoutTime: Defines the number of minutes before a Web Mail Client user is automatically logged out (0 = never).
    • AutoFinish: Specifies if the the Web Mail Login Server application will automatically shutdown after the last user logs out of the Web Mail Client (0 = no, 1 = yes).
  • Improved the performance of the Bayesian database.
  • Improved the compatibility of the FTP proxy server.
  • Improved the proxy cache to not cache compressed (gzip) HTML pages. This was causing problems with web browsers that do not use HTTP 1.1 as default (e.g. MSIE).
  • Fixed a bug in the Remote Web Admin - SMTP - Anti-spam - Blacklist to accomodate a large amount of entries.
  • Fixed a bug in the Web Mail Client that would sometimes show duplicate pages in a fax message.
  • Fixed a bug in the Web Mail Client that would sometimes show 'Unable to write to cesta_k_ini' on Windows 2000 SP3/SP4.
  • Fixed a vulnerability issue in the Web Mail Client that allowed an authenticated user to upload a file attachment to an arbitrary location on the server when composing an e-mail (from Tan Chew Keong).

2004.0.04.1221 Released December 22, 2004

  • Fixed a bug that did not return HTTP REDIRECT requests properly through the proxy when the Content Filter was enabled.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the 'Restore previous build' function from working correctly when accessed from the Remote Web Admin.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented editing of the Content Filter categories from the Advanced Configuration Windows GUI that were previously entered from the Remote Web Admin.

  • Fixed a bug that prevented the insertion of a signed SSL certificate when 602LAN SUITE is installed to a folder with spaces in the name.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the default NAT Permission set to appear under Web Administration.
  • Fixed a denial-of-service attack on the web mail client (m602cl3w.exe) when an attacker issues a POST command followed by a large content-length value and disconnects immediately without sending all of the data (found by Luigi Auriemma -- more info).
  • Fixed a denial-of-service attack on the Telnet proxy that can consume all of the available sockets by entering the same hostname as the target host to connect to (found by Luigi Auriemma -- more info).
  • Fixed an inconsistency in the GUI that stated the anti-spam header as X-LNS-Spam-Check when it is supposed to be X-LNS-SpamCheck.
  • Fixed ActiveReports to understand time formatted with periods (HH.MM).

2004.0.04.0909 Released September 15, 2004

  • Added multi-segment network support to NAT. If the server has more then one network interface to the internal (private) network or if these interfaces have more than one IP address assigned, it is now possible to select what interface(s) and subnet(s) NAT will be enabled.
  • Added IP Filter support to the NAT feature.
  • Fixed virus detection of incorrectly encoded base64 attachments.
  • Fixed erroneous listing of collected POP3 messages in the List of sent items folder in the web mail client.
  • Fixed a problem when updating the personal Whitelist/Blacklist from the web mail client when an address contains certain characters (e.g. ", <, >, etc.).
  • Fixed a crash when under heavy load processing e-mail with viruses and accessing the remote web administration while deleting a user, all at the exact same time.

  • Improved the temporary message-cleaning algorithm. This process is started during 602LAN SUITE startup, then it will occur once per day.
  • Improved the speed of the Bayesian cleaning algorithm that compresses the MAILS.DB database.
  • Improved SMTP processing of messages that are looping (bouncing). 602LAN SUITE will remove the messages from the queue, save it to the folder INSTALLPATH/internet/odlozeno and pop up an error message.
  • Improved ETRN command execution by moving it to an independent thread so that it will not restart in case of a connection timeout.

  • Fixed installation so it is compatible with Windows Terminal Services.

  • Added HELO/EHLO command parameter (this fully qualified computer name will be sent during HELO/EHLO SMTP handshaking).
  • Added all Junk e-mail and e-mail infected by a virus into separate .CSV files (spam.csv and infected.csv)
  • Updated Web Mail Client Outlook
    • Added Anti-spam options with Personal Whitelist and Blacklist control.
    • Added Drafts folder. This folder includes messages that are not finished and have been saved for future editing.
    • Added Items to be sent folder. This folder includes messages that are waiting to be sent.
    • Added Sent items folder. This folder includes a copy of each sent message.
    • Added List of sent items folder. This folder includes a list of sent messages.
    • Added Deleted items folder. This folder includes a list of deleted messages.
    • Added Automatic deletion support. It is now possible to set an automatic deletion interval for the Drafts, Items to be sent, Sent items, List of sent items and Deleted items folders.
    • Security update: The local 602LAN SUITE installation path was removed from the HTML variables.
