what is the button on the console for that says "begin conversion to large clusters"? Is it a hard drive reformatting?

No. It's a database optimization method. If you have a large groupware install i may help you increase performance. If you're satisfied with the performance you're getting, I wouldn't worry about it.

what would define a large install? I'm never satisfied with how long it takes to process junk mail.

fyi, I converted to large clusters and processing of junk mail is a lot faster. We have about 25 users with 3 domains.
A suggestion for a new feature, please add "empty folder" to the inbox properties. i had a user with over 13000 messages and I had to delete them 100 at a time.
