Refresh cached pages
Posted by  Will Moonen  on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 3:07:10 AM (EST)
There are web pages which content may vary during the day. For example traffic information of tv guides.
These pages are cached by the proxy server.
However, when a workstation is requesting the same page sveral times during the day, it's not updated. It needs a manual refresh.
Internet Explorer is set to update the page every visit.
When I turn caching off within LanSuite or disable the use of proxy server within IE, everything is ok.

Why is this? And what can I do about this behaviour?

This is behaving exactly as it should. If you are caching these pages, then the old information is going to be displayed until it expires based on your settings. That's exactly how a cache should work. You say if you turn the caching off, it works fine, so there's your answer there. :)
