Yes, the same is here: if I after automatic merging disable this feature, it will simple overwrite the file regardless of my choise.

Has anyone tried merging documents with the new version released April 19 2007. I tried and it is just overwriting the current file, not merging.

I know this is a long shot since there's no mention of it in "What's new", but the "Default File Name" in one of the screen shots got my hopes up a little.
Does version 6 by any chance allow mergin...

According to support, there's no way to automate merging at this time.
